Renovation efforts

The small village Kaniyanur, near Thimiri town (which is close to Arcot) in Thiruvannamalai district hosts the Sri Kamakshi ambal sametha Sri Anigopanathar temple. This temple which is believed to have been built by the Great Kulothunga Cholan about 1000 years back. The temple sivachariyar describes the significance of the temple in the form the lingam in square form and ambal belived to reside on the avudai platform. The sthala vruksham is the Vilvam tree.

This temple renovation, spearheaded by the villagers, is expected to be wrapped up in a month or two and the Kumbhabhishekam ceremony will take place after that.

We request all devotees to take part in this holy effort and contribute physically and monetarily to these efforts and get blessed by the almighty.
